I had that and its nice but no E92 M3 with extended leather. lol Not even close.

If an E92 M3 was an 8/10 in interior the Z4MC would be 6/10 with extended leather.

Leather aside, I imagine the seats are more comfortable in the E92 M3 as well?

The interior on the E9x M3 is much nicer. There's no way around it. It's in another class, extended leather notwithstanding. The electronics, seat adjustments, leather quality, dash--all of it. The seats are way more comfortable as is the ride. Most comfortable car, with EDC, I've driven or owned. My wife, who has her own Z4M, agrees. (That said, you know what I now drive.)

I'd have to agree the external styling of the M3 is rather bland compared to the Z (3, 4, or current). There's just no way a sedan is going to be able to compete with something with a more pure sports car look.

Which is better? It depends on what you want out of the car and what you'll use it for. I think if we could find Endless a Z4M that's retrofitted with an E92 M3 interior we'd have this problem solved!

I'm still unsure if a 6-speed manual will make a big difference instead of DCT. Probably with full exhaust and race suspension might change my view.
Exactly my sentiments about the M3, but I would still love to have one in my garage , but it will never be an emotional replacement for the z4m. Hence my decision to swap it with this....

This thing is such a hoot to drive on the street and the track. It some how parallels what the z4m was to me, that is once you get over the blue oval symbol, and the lack of amenities. It makes a great daily/track car.

Believe it or not but the shifter is nearly on par with an s2000, the ride as forgiving as an e90 non M, and the power climbs past it's 7500 rpm redline, not to mention that the steering is spot on and very transparent, oh yeah and the handling is perfectly neutral. This is a no frills type of car, for the driving enthusiast...For the drivers, if you can stomach losing your roundel I'd give this car a try...of course I'm biased, but if I really didn't like it, I'd have no issues jumping out of it right now.

If they made an E89 M I would go that route but since they don't the M3 will suffice for now.

I can understand that. I would be tempted to get the 35is but was surprised that, at least to me, the E89 didn't have any more leg room than my E85.

Really? That blows. The E85/E86 has the legroom if you want the back of the seat rubbing the back of the car.. I don't like that sound so I move up a few inches and thats what kills my legs and back.

Great picture, and the transformation I'll be making. Interlagos Blue M Coupe (w/ Comp wheels) to Alpine White Comp M3. The M Coupe looks better, but I need more room, and I can't get away from V8 ///M engines

I'm 6'5" and have had the seat rubbing against the back for 3 1/2 years. I've heard nothing. (The sounds coming from the center compartment is a different matter).

Yeah, you're right. sDrive35is is still not an M but it is still faster than an MC and the interior looks better.

I also disagree about the interior. It is spartan, yes. But I think it is fitting. This new Z4 feels cheap to me.

I did the same thing. I went to a 2012 GT with brembo's. Test drove a boss and honestly didn't think it was worth the extra cash. I've got hurst shifter, intake, exhaust and tune brings me up to boss power levels. Waiting on coils and I'll handle like one. I didn't like boss wheels either. I've got a set of forgestars on order for my car as we speak. Also have boss front and saleen grill waiting for the spring. Also have a little trick for the straight line in store for the spring. Got a nitrous express plate kit sitting in my room, gonna run a 150 shot. Honestly, this car really puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. And you're right, it does almost have the raw feeling of the z4m. The car is sooo balanced and rotates so well unlike my ass happy m coupe. Honestly, I love my mustang. Also, I can run 335's out back and up to 295's up front no problem. I am however, extremely jealous of your Recaro seats. I'm gonna be looking for a set in the future.

Its loud and annoying to myself and my gf. Weird, its the rubber on plastic sound. Both sides make that sound if the seat is all the way back. Thats were I need it to be comfortable.
