That's awesome! I've seen the spreadsheet since I first got the car but this is way cool!

Total Number in Alpine White III over Imola Red Nappa with Brushed Aluminum Trim: 17 (#17 produced*)

Thanks for the plug. This is only USA data so if anyone's cars are from elsewhere it won't work.

Lots of cool info...thanks for putting it together.

Found out that there were only 100 MCs that were built after mine and is runner up to the last one ever made in that combo

Yeah it's the one of the harder ones to snag. I tried to swap my Black interior for Dark Sepang but it never happened.

Just curious, why did you limit it this site to just coupes and exclude roadsters?

My 07 aw/ir is apparently one of 31 produced in 07 and one of 57 total. Very cool and even more rare than my 07 bmw x moto

"Just curious, why did you limit it this site to just coupes and exclude roadsters?"

Agreed. Globally, it was Coupes, Worldwide: 4,275, North America: 1,815.
Roadsters, Worldwide: 5,070, North America: 3,042.

So that means outside North America, roadsters are more rare? Either way, these cars are low production in either body style relative to the entire Z4 run.

The Carbon Black car has been discussed here before- my memory is dim, but I believe that the car was sold in SC which makes me think that someone who had some "pull" with the factory was able to order that color. It went up for sale about a year or two ago and was immediately sold- don't know where or to whom.

My car:
Total Number in Monaco Blue Metallic: 36
Total Number in Monaco Blue Metallic over Light Sepang Bronze Extended Nappa with Carbon Leather Trim: 2 (the other one is Canadian spec so mine is the only US-spec)
Total Number in Monaco Blue Metallic over Light Sepang Bronze Extended Nappa with Carbon Leather Trim in 2007 Model Year: 1

Z4MRoadsterbuyersguide.com is in the works for a January launch and will have the same VIN lookup feature.

The Carbon Black car was sold a year or two ago through a normal classified listing on the CCA website. I think it was $35K or something like that, normal price.

Edit: Here's a link on that. http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthre...t=carbon+black

I tried to buy it about a year and a half ago when I was looking for a car. Local buyer bought it in Mass. and I couldn't arrange a deal as fast or as simply as he could. I ended up buying my car from the person that bought it (he bought the carbon black and sold his to me). The odd part is I talked to the original owner of the carbon black (I was 2nd on list) and he said he bought it off of the lot and didn't realize it was rare until he was trying to sell it and many contacted him.

When I went to pick up my car I wasn't able to see it as it was parked somewhere else.

To give some of you who are newer to the car an idea of where values have gone in the last few years.. I had my car on the market in early '09, with about 25k miles on it, for $29k, and got a few tire kickers over a several month period, but no serious buyers. I wound up deciding to pay it off and keep it, and I'm incredibly glad I did. Today? It's probably worth that same $29k I was seeking then but couldn't get, despite being 5 years older and having double the mileage (now at 51k).

One could easily find the "right" car nowadays, drive it a year or two, and get most if not all of what it cost back when reselling. That is, if anyone would actually want to sell at that point.
