How do you remove this part

Hello,

I've managed to get the gear surround off, but I can't seem to get the surround separated from the hazard/lock button module. Please help! Thank you!

I can't remember exactly, (I'm like that anymore), but I think I unplugged the connector on the back of that module and left it attached to the trim.

That was when I was doing an M5 knob/boot upgrade. Not sure what you're up to.

I'm trying to vinyl wrap that part. For some reason I can't get the connector out, I think there is a small notch on the connector that's preventing me from removing it

Looks like the connector goes in sideways.
There's probably a finger that catches in the rectangular hole you can see in this view.
Try and poke something at this hole while pulling it out in the direction the wires come out.

Nope I don't think there is any catch, should just slot in and out. And so does the switch assembly, slots in and out.
