Dyno after new 450cc injectors and 525 tune
So I made it back to the dyno today . It was 82 outside and 87 degrees in the shop , and no dyno fan ( was unfortunately broken). Given that I'm pretty happy with the results as charge temps were very high . AFR's from the tailpipe remained steady to redline with the new injectors and the car made more power all the way to fuel cut . Peak boost pressure was 7.3 psi which is about right given my headers and no cats . I am def still having belt slip in lower gears though so I will be replacing my current belt with a Goodyear gator back that is slightly smaller . After I might see a touch more psi up top in the higher gears too . Unfortunately I was unable to log injector duty cycle for those curious . The AFR's should equate to mid to high 11's from the header which is solid . Over all I am happy that my car is safe for duty again .

Awesome news! Glad to hear it. Can you share the cost of the new Bosch 450cc injectors, as well as if ESS charged you for a tune? PM me if you like.
What were your torque numbers like? |

Yeah I'm pretty happy especially since I was having a little belt slip up top even in 5th . I will be changing out my belt from ESS to a Goodyear gator back belt . I purchased three sizes and will let everyone know which one works best . As my current one is 2335 and is a bit loose, I think the 2325 will be the ticket for those of us with the 135mm and 79mm pulley combo .

what did you peak with HP before the injector upgrade? boost seems really low for a 525 kit, even with your exhaust mods.

I feel that the gatorback belt is just a belt used to eliminate noise. I just can't stand that we have to pay this much money for a "respectable" kit and worry this much about shit like this. I also have the small injectors and after i perform some maintenance on my engine I will go test the car on the dyno to see if i'm leaning out. |

I have several friends who build sc cars that swear by them . I think beedub has been running 2310 with that setup with no issues for a long time .

He has literally swapped more than 50% of the ESS components to some quality components. I never want to compare my car to his car that works because he solved all the shitty unacceptable problems that ESS threw at us. |

Has anyone else had any experience with pulley bearings going bad? Mine doesn't sound completely quiet, but it's a couple years old and I've never heard a brand new one! |

too much tension will kill bearings much quicker..... theirs fine balance with these belts tbh, you want tension but you don't want over tension.... fwiw I'm not getting any belt slip at all with the 2310 belt on my 500.....

All these issues. For someone considering the switch to FI, it looks like a major pain in the ass. Maybe G-Power has sorted their kit out, as I haven't heard a peep from Pokey since his install?

Drives like OEM. 7 psi from 5krpm - 8krpm. My issues are:
- A hose on ITB #4 started coming loose and had to be tightened. This could be due to my worn motor mounts giving the engine a little more flex under acceleration. 30 sec fix and not a big deal at all. - Bypass valve bracket popped off. I had a friend make another rather than contacting G-Power since I had to drive the car 700 miles the following day. Small part but could have stopped my fun for a couple weeks. Another 30 sec fix once I had the bracket made. - I get a bit of rattle at idle where the cast manifold vibrates against itself. This is more of a quirk and isn't always present. - RPM dips occasionally at clutch in. So far over 8000 miles, this hasn't caused the car to stall or even come close. It may have been a pre-existing condition exacerbated by the simultaneous install of catless headers and race-catted section 1. Basically, zero major issues. No stalls. 108k miles on the car. Breaks loose in 3rd gear. The kit is as near perfect as you will find.

Not actually true. You are hearing from a few that track their cars heavily. You haven't heard a peep from me or the many that have SC's on their cars. These guys are pushing the limits and I would not run any super charger, my preference, for a dedicated track car. My car scares me in a straight line when my foot is at the floor. And this is coming from someone who is racing at the track monthly in a BMW M3.
