Exhaust/straight pipe question

I plan on getting an exhaust for my e85 2.5i, I want something that's on the louder side, any recommendations? Also does anyone know how loud the super sprint section 2 straight pipes are when installed on a 2.5?

Do the AngryCop exhaust, cheap, louder without being unbearable... (search for it)

for all out pain go w catless headers with a muffler in the mid section then pipes straight out the back (I have this, not for the faint of heart)

Headers double the volume of your exhaust, so keep this in mind if you ever choose to go beyond a muffler.

Someone on the forum said they got aftermarket e46 headers for their z4 and that they fit, any thoughts on how well that would work out?

I have installed aftermarket headers from "bimmerbrakes"
The quality of welds and fit are excellent and will bolt directly onto your exhaust piping
You will of course have to put cats in line somewhere to pass emissions.

Check out the E46fanatics forum for the occasional set that up for sale

Bimmerbrakes were actually clearing out their stock late last year so I was fortunate to get a set for $250.

That's a great deal compared to the $400+ original price, thank you for the info!

I'm curios to hear what your set up sounds like, anyway you could upload a video?

I finally installed my Eisenmann race exhaust. Its sounds pretty great. Not too loud, not too quiet. It really wails at high RPM. Here's a video!

It seems that you only instaled a backbox...No gains just with that and the noise...could be much better. =)

Not worth buying a catback or aexl back too price for "ok" sound. Getting mine made custom by a performance shop is half the price

Yeah there are tons of options out there. I've seen some of the custom exhaust jobs. Some sound great on YouTube. However, I didn't want it to look "homemade". Sure, you could get a Midas muffler and a couple of Autozone tips, but that would look pretty cheese ball if you ask me. I wanted something that had the proper gaps around the exhaust cutout in the bumper, tips that stick out just right with the proper offset, and a sound that wasn't too loud or too quiet. It's also easy to unbolt.

If I want it louder I could remove the center and rear resonators. I've heard that makes the thing really scream. But I'm happy with it. No drone really.

In any event, its all a matter of personal choice. Good luck!
