2006 BMW Z4 Headlight Wiring Insulation Issues

I have done some extensive research regarding my 2006 Z4 headlight wiring insulation getting brittle and flaking off leaving bare wires.
I found this to be a real issue with Z4's and even other model BMW's as well.
Here are my questions:

1. What is the fix for this particular issue.
2. Has BMW recognized this as an issue etc.
3. Has anyone contacted BMW and if so what was their response.
4. Is the whole wiring harness subject to insulation failure or is this just isolated to the headlights

Welcome to the forum....
Do you have Xenon headlights?
This is common due to age/heat and plant based wire insulation.
Paint on a few coats of liquid electrical tape.
