Need spacer advice
2008 3.0Si coupe, standard suspension and running BMW BBS 2 piece M cross spoke 101
F - 8JX18 ET:47 225/40/18 R - 8 1/2JX18 ET:50 255/35/18 https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=36_0638 Trying to bring the wheels/tires closer to the lip without rubbing, would it be safe to run 10mm in front and 15mm in rear? This is purely for cosmetics and which brand of spacer would you recommend? Thanks. |

I don't know the 3.0 well enough to really speak to it, but those wheel sizes are extremely conservative (small) to begin with, and I don't think 12 mm in the front or 15 in the rear is going to present much of an issue |

+100 on the 10mm spacers. The ones without a hub will leave you with vibration at highway speeds, and the 10mm that come with a hub for the wheels can have a tolerance issue that causes them to not sit flush against the hub.
We just put a set of ECS Tuning 20mm spacers on all 4 corners of a friends 2006 3.0si roadster running OEM size wheels and tires (same as OP). Rears are fine. Front tires just touch the plastic fender liner at full lock, but it's slight enough that you can't hear it at the low speeds you're at full left or right steering lock. If you went 15mm front and 20mm rear you should have now issue at all, but the 20mm does fill the wheel wells nicely.

Thanks to both for the info as well as reference for ECS, I will need to measure just to be sure.
Update, it will be 15 front & 20 rear. I was about to get the ECS ones with bolts but they only come in black, since the hub & wheel are silver, guess I am going with Turner's. Thanks again for the info. Last edited by sclui56; 07-09-2018 at 04:33 PM.. |
