Possably Trade: 05 E46 M3 6spd AW/IR 427xx miles Loaded
Well the thought is crossing my mind...so just seeing what is available and if there is any interest. Like title says plus it has a sunroof. Interior is a 10/10. Exterior is a 9/10, due to rear bumper scratch and 1 rim with curbage. Car is in excellent condition and spotless. All maintenance records are up to date by bmw dealership. Inspection 2 has just been done...including Vanos inspection, valve adjustment, and new oil and filter. I am the 2nd owner. 1st owner was an elder lady and was garage kept by her. I even have the original window sticker. This car was NEVER raced or tracked. This is the most sought for color combo, with low miles, cold weather package, aftermarket 6000k hid, navi, power seats, back up parking sensors AND NOT AN SMG. Also has bluetooth that does work and harmon kardon sounds. Seat bolsters....sorry bad sunlight and cell phone pics....seats r in great shape. |

Not looking to pay...just a straight up trade. I was thinking about selling mine for $30000. I had an offer for 29.5 but turned it down and another offer for 30.5 but the buyer found another one with a little bit more miles for 28.5 and chose that.

your car looks great but if people are offering you 30k, sell it and use that cash to buy a Z4M. i dont think any Z4M owners would do an equal trade for an older car that probably have more miles than their Z4M. its a downgrade in my opinion unless their Z4M has a lot more miles to equal out the value

Thanks for the opinion. I dont think its a downgrade at all. I see lesser mile z4m going for about my asking. You never know maybe someone needs a backseat now. Plus this is just a maybe on my end also. I love my car. As a matter of fact i just ordered some vb3s 19x9.5 and 19x10 powder coated oem silver.

Nice e46, makes me miss mine. I had a AW/IR with sunroof delete & SMG. God I loved SMG and wish Z4Ms had the option.
As others have said, just sell it outright, you will sell it EASILY with that color combo. I posted my ad on m3forum.net and had had 2 deposits simultaneously, one buyer from the forum and one from a dealership that I had on consignment. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=322863

As much as I loved owning the M3, the Z4M without a doubt is the "better" car, expecially looks wise plus the rarity keeps the value of these cars extremely stable.
Both have the same s54 engine but the Z4M is faster and lighter and extremely more stiff, one of the stiffest production cars ever made. Plus the problems with the subframe on the M3s should scare the hell out of anyone owning them, ok maybe I am exagerrating but it is something to be concerned about. Back Seat - (but I almost never used a back seat) SMG - I simply loved having the SMG, but since your car is manual, it won't matter since Z4M is only 6 speed. Aftermarket Parts availability easily goes to the M3 M3 is easily the more pratical of the too and has a nice timeless design. Anyhow, that's why others are saying that you will have a very hard time finding a Z4M owner swapping cars with you straight up but you never know. Maybe other members here can chime in and give you their thoughts as well, if you are asking for more opinions. IMO it would be a little bit of a downgrade, just for the reasons I said above, but that in no way means the M3 isn't a hell of a car, because it is. Whatever you choose, like I said I doubt you will have any problem selling your M3. Last edited by doozyj; 02-22-2012 at 12:47 AM.. |

Just my opinion, but the Z4M and E46 M3 are two completely different cars and I can't really see comparing them. The only thing they have in common is the engine. But I'm sure you know that already. (my forte is sharing unsolicted opinions)
Your car is really nice. As far as rarity, I rarely saw one like my old E46 either.... Alpine white over cinnamon. Mine was the 6 spd manual, but I drove a few SMG's and really liked it. Loved the car. For about 18 months. Mostly because of too many early S54engine failures I found myself consumed with when my engine was going to explode. I babied the thing so much so as to lessen the chance of catastrophe, I finally said screw it and just sold the car. Ordered an '05 E46 330i ZHP (in Imola) which turned out to be an even nicer all-around car for me. Plus, I didn't have to worry about the engine (more specifically the rod bearing issue). It was bullet proof. That 330 is gone now and was replaced with this coupe. At least this time I was wise enough to let someone else take the damned depreciation hit! lol I wish to God I could find a car that would passify me for more than 3 years. This crap's getting expensive. GLWS, Rus Last edited by ruscoupe; 02-22-2012 at 12:10 PM.. |
