well another month has gone by....still no update at all? this is beginning to border on the ridiculous, I would assume by now ohlins has zero interest in doing this?

what makes me even more angry is they (ohlins) do not even have the simple courtesy to return an email; that is just unacceptable!

Agreed. I gave the guy my email, my phone number, heck even told him I was ready to dump $4k right away for a prototype kit.
Guess they don't want money

Don't expect anything to be released. The fact that they haven't released anything after all this time just proves that they don't give a shit about the E85/E86 platform.
Several of us have tried to convince them to run at least a limited batch, but they would just rather put all their resources into rolling out new products for mass-produced platforms. Makes sense from their business point of view, just sucks for Z enthusiasts.

That really sucks... I really hoped Öhlins could figure out something. But like you said, they're not interested in the small market of the Z. I'm about to hit 48k miles on my Coupe and wanted to do a proper suspension set up/refresh since I'm know occasionally tracking the car. Either way I have to find another suspension that could work for me.

don't be sad!! we have some awesome, top level suspension sets available anyway!!

my clubsports have been nothing but perfect... considering BMW run them on the old GTS and the new one for that matter, be content in knowing they are the business!

I have to do a bit more research, because where I live we have one of the worst, if not the worst roads in this hemisphere. There are pot holes everywhere, even in the track we have pot holes, that's why I was hoping for the Öhlins, because I thought the DFV technology could help with the overall "comfort" when not racing. I only track the car about 5 times a year.

I don't miss that aspect of the roads in PR...holes that could swallow a starlet complete.

Yep, that's why I'm so hesitant on buying a coilover suspension. I need a suspension that's subtle enough for the roads here in Puerto Rico and at the same time aggressive when track driving. So basically the Öhlins were the "perfect" suspension for my specific situation.

Update:
I checked with Ohlins USA and they aren't interested in developing coilovers for the E85/E86 platform.

Pretty sure we knew this 7 years ago

You could always get Öhlins by getting E46 shocks in the rear and E36 in the front with custom valving/springs to suit the Z4, only downside is that the front shocks are taller so you couldn't slam the car if you wanted.

Nearly 300 posts later, I wonder what people ended up going for as these were not available for our cars.

It would be good to start a poll to compare as a lot of new coilover systems out today were not available back in 2012 so the choice was greatly limited.

Now our platform is spoiled for choice which is one of the benefits of not being an early adopter.

Regarding the Ohlins R&T, IMO not a great loss as they were only a low end cheap one-way adjustable setup.
