12.5mm spacers with what length studs?

So, i just bought a Stoptech BBK. They won't fit behind stock wheels without spacers according to my garage when they tried installing them.

They had a used set of 12mm spacers there and using them they said that it clears the wheel spokes so i've decided to buy a set of Turner's 12.5mm wheel spacers.

Since i'm relatively frequently removing the wheels i thought i'd also convert them into a stud setup. Now Turner sells 75 and 90mm long studs, which one's should i buy? I've emailed them with this twice already but got no reply yet...

Spacers i'm gonna buy: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/show...l-spacers-pair

Studs i'm trying to decide about: 75mm http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-11...-mini-etc.aspx and 90mm http://www.turnermotorsport.com/show...0-e92-mini-etc

I've also read this, http://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-wh...yclopedia.aspx which is Turner's article about wheel spacers and if you scroll down where it says "Wheel Spacers With Wheel Studs" it mentions that you should calculate the length of the studs you need by factoring in the spacer thickness but also the brake hat thickness as well. Still confused though, don't know how thick the Stoptech brake hat is.

Anyone else has studs and spacers? Should i just get the 90mm and be done with it??

*edit: If i get the 90mm ones and then buy different wheels in the future that don't require spacers will the 90mm studs still work safely? I mention this because on Macht Schnell's website (http://www.machtschnell.com/product/...conversion-kit) it says this about about their 90mm studs "- 90mm length allows for spacer thicknesses (up to +20mm) to be used without changing studs (NOTE: a +5mm spacer minimum is required for installation)"

Just had a reply from Turner Motorsport saying that 75mm will be fine. If anyone wants to add anything to the thread though feel free to do so.

hi ga41 75mm studs will be perfect for your needs...... they will fit nice and flush :-)

ga41 if you need any info Re spacer/studs/nuts then drop me a pm as i went through this pretty comprehensively on my BBK install....

i must advise against you running a 12.5mm spacer on the front of your stock rims, this will make your front offset too aggressive.. remember the stock is ET42....

Hi dude, so you think 75mm is enough for the aforementioned spacers? I am literally about to order them

Ga41 this is how it will look...

you'll LOVE these once they are installed, its right up their with my favourite mods, the kic wheel nuts are a thing of total awesomeness.... but sadly rather overpriced....

yes definatly fine with the spacers no issue at all, upto to 12.5 is pretty much perfect for the 75mm studs with TOTAL thread engagement, check out my photos, but on stock rims not a good idea......

im assuming your running stock rims , if not then ignore this comment and order away..... hope this helps

What do you mean not a good idea?

It's going to be stock wheels for me. I actually like them for one but mostly it's because of cost, spacers + bolts or even studs is much cheaper than a new set of wheels!

on the stock rims you need a 10mm spacer :-) 12.5 is too much, this will take you to ET32, with alittle camber to tuck in the rim you'll have a great looking and performing setup..... your chosen route would be ET29.5 which is too aggresive for the z4m front unless you plan to run stupid camber

i promise you even at et32 the rim with stick out at the front without alittle camber, et 29 will require more than you want for the street driven vehicle :-)

I have 10mm spacers on the rear with 75mm studs and they fit well.

The only thing you need to watch for is thread engagement. For a properly fitting fastener (nut) the minimum number of threads exposed should be two (2) for a non-nylock fastener. For nylock fasteners (any fastener that has plastic/nylon etc. built into it), it is acceptable to have the stud/bolt flush with the end of the fastener.

Really? I run 12.5mm front and rear and it's not aggressive enough... Unless you're talking about fitting the BBK...

It's true, i have. Perhaps it might be because the Yokohama AD08's i have run wider than other tires though...

An example of what that small plastic protrusion of the wheel well has done to my tires:
