interesting. good thought here on the process. which leads me to ask, is this a reversible mod?
Yes, if anything just like oe bolts, these should be replaced every few years. Hence I plan on getting mine redone sometime this summer.

Good question - I asked the same...

The kit I got from Vorshlag came with two small resealable tubes of the following, in factory packaging ...

1) Vibra-Tite Anaerobic Threadlocker Permanent Strength RED 13102.
The packaging says "Compare to Loctite 262". The cure specs of Loctite are here - http://tds.loctite.com/tds5/docs/262-EN.pdf

2) HD Industries Copper Anti-Seize 907C

If you get an impact wrench, don't bother getting a impact socket. The walls of mine were too thick and did not fit inside my wheel. Just get a Craftsman - if it breaks, you just get a free replacement (I've done this).
damn! more stuff to put on my "I really think I need/want this list"

I don't mind if I break my torque wrench. Its a big Harbor Freight model that caused me to break a spark plug before. I really like the idea of a cordless impact wrench to save time

My Milwaukee cordless impact wrench (a Christmas present from my wife) with NiCD is rated at something like 100lb/ft. It's not quite enough to "break" the nuts that are on even though I hand torque them to about 85, thus the extra breaker bar. Don't know if a cordless with a beefier motor/battery would eliminate the need for a breaker bar. If so, don't overtorque.

This thread just reminded me to get around to doing this simple but effective modification.

From between when I installed them and now, I must of changed wheels around 5-6 times.

It has cut my time in half (now around 20-30 mins for all 4 wheels...including the time to set-up my air impact), so easy to just throw the wheel on the stud and hub, tighten the first lug and it's centered and ready for the other 4.

Now if only we had centre lock wheels we could cut that time down to about 20sec per corner.
