2008 Z4 won't start (video inside)
Hi Guys
new to the Z4 world, recently i picked up a Z4 3.0 (pretty cheap, as a fixer upper) all electronics work i.e. lights, stereo, etc but i can't get the car to Turnover and I'm not sure if its the starter or something else i did do some searching before making a post (I'm not one to create new threads) but i need some guidance Things to note: -i just replaced the battery -i have a Bav Technic cable and no engine codes are shown -in the video the car try to start (that loud noise) but just can't, maybe some ground connections lose? -at the end you can here faint rapid clicking, almost like a snake, I'm assuming this is the starter? thanks for your input! |

It sounds like a bad starter. Remove it and have it checked. Can you turn the engine over without using the starter? Good luck.

It would be helpful to know what happened the last time you drove it. Were there any symptoms of the starter acting up? Assuming the engine isn't seized, it could be anything from a loose battery connector or bad starter / solenoid. Since you just replaced the battery, perhaps the terminals weren't tightened properly?
