Fitment confirmation (mild)

'07 Z4M, looking at a new set of wheels/tires for the spring. I've been doing tons of reading but even still want to confirm this will be a hassle free setup. This is my bone stock daily driver, it will not be seeing track or autocross and I don't plan on doing any other mods. Will see regular mountain roads. My main goal is appearance and driveability without rubbing.

18x8.5" et35 245/40-R18
18x9.5" st22 275/35-R18

I would prefer to downsize the tires to fix a front fitment issue if needed as the wheels I am looking at are not offered in an et38-et40 front.

that setup is completely hassle free... bolt on and forget. Careful that the rear tyre isn't a wide running 275 section as you may catch the inner fender. My semi slick 265 section is 277mm wide..... wider than most street tyre 275 sections, so just check overall tyre widths but your good to go.

Like Beedub said, that will fit.

Personally I like the 235/265 tire size a bit better. Not as tall and a bit more planted feeling (and the expense of a bit of ride comfort) and a bit more rear wheel torque.

You can also run a 9" front with that offset and tire combo.

fwiw i the run the 235/265 size with my blown z4m on a semi slick. Its all the tyre i need.

on the stated rim widths they are perfect.

I did debate the 235/265 setup as well but I was (slightly) concerned about how underside they were adding to mileage on the car, and wether or not they would cause DSC issues. It does seem to be a common size though so I may go that route!

In terms of size I appreciate the heads up on the tears, I'm still tossing the options around but as of yet I am not terribly concerned with getting best of the best so I might grab the Ventus V12. The thought being that they are good but still cost effective for the occasional slide. The PSS are a good deal more expensive, and maybe TOO good for how I drive

Are you planning on a lot of wet weather driving? The PSS are really good in wet and and a bit colder than most summer tires.

If that's not a requirement I'd look at Dunlop Direzza IIs (or Hankook RS3s). The Ventus is ok but folks trying it with our car have found tread squirm and the softer sidewalls (compared to the other two noted) to be less than stellar. The Direzza II is also a really good AutoX and HPDE tire.

Where I live we see loads of rain, so yes to wet weather driving. That being said I don't drive hard in the rain. I'll look into those options, but at first glance even that batch is too extreme for the amount of mileage I put on my car on the street (upwards of 100km per day every day, more on weekends).

Another option to add to the mix, 18x10 et25 rear, 18x8.5 et35 front. Is the rear within range? I don't see quite as many of them around but if kept on 275 would there be fitment problems on totally stock suspension?
