Please Help! Butt Rubbing

Front
Apex ARC8 18x9.5ET35
Bridgestone S-04 255/35-18

Rear
Apex ARC8 18x10.0ET25
Bridgestone S-04 275/35-18

Ground Control 440F/460R; lowered to ... Hell I don't know
Alignment -2.0F/-2.5R
Fenders lips rolled
Fenders pulled

I'm getting rubbing on the spot that connects the rear bumper to the rear quarter panel. It looks pretty small but don't want it to cut the tire at the track and send my car into a wall. That would not be fun!

Also, I have no idea why everyone says this setup fits. At -2.5* rear camber and rolled fenders, I would not say this "FITS".

Anyone know what to do for this short of selling the wheels?

Does it still rub when you stiffen the suspension?

over time it will stop, I have the same on mine but mine isn't an M.
Actually I'm about to potentially buy a set of wheels 8.5J ET30 Front 10J ET25

I'm pretty sure the rears won't fit unless I stretch the tyre which for me a 245 or less isn't an option.

Anyone fitted a similar setup?

dorifto88,

Hrm, I rub at high compression, like big bumps.

I can get it to not rub (on the street) if I raise the car up by dialing in more preload. So I can raise the car up, which is an obvious solution... but I'm worried that it will still rub at the track.

I can't raise my compression damping (only rebound), if that was what you meant?

sorry yes thats what i meant. like above said, it will eventually go away. thats just plastic (where its rubbing). i think it is safe to assume that all, or most, of us who autocross or track the car rub there, and in the front also. If the rubbing really bugs you then try a 265 tire instead.

Tire deflection or worn out trailing arm bushing. Do you have RTAB limiters in?

If you don't want to do any major suspension works you have a few other options.

1. rolling the inner guard will work if its just touching
2. take your wheels to a wheel shop and shave 5mm of the hub face
3.run a smaller width tyre

last resort burn it

I don't have RTAB limiters in the car, thank you for the suggestion! I will check the RTAB's, as well. I have not looked at them yet.

I have the rogue engineering black edition Rtab which has the limiter built into it. Great piece of kit and same cost as OEM plus the shim kit but better and no downsides

Don't worry!! ... I've since spent almost 8 hours removing swirl marks from the previous owner! She's not THAT low compared to some cars I've seen here.

its quite low however.... maybe raise it slightly....

FWIW heres my genuine 260m m3 18" same as you outback basically and even with semi slick which run wider , no rub at all under race conditions.

i set the cars ride height very conservative.

wheres nekky right now.... ?? 10.5 works with no rub huh??? yeahhh....

OPs tried and tested setup rubbing with whats considered good for the z4m.
maybe on the road but used properly/circuit conditions you'll be surprised how conservative a setup will rub.
