Z4 M front splash shield removal?

Does anyone know the best way to remove the left and right splash shields on the M Coupe?

I have cracked both of them and I'm having a bear figuring out how to remove/install the new ones. On the drivers side it looks like one of the engine hoses was installed after the shield was installed, so I cut the old one out, but have no idea how I'm going to get the new one in.
