Been Searching for two months! Getting impatient

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
I'm getting very impatient in searching for my perfect M coupe and have yet to find it. I'd really like to find a non-black one. I've been doing the daily forum search (zpost and bimmerforums), craigslist, ebaymotors, and autotrader searches.

Any advice on other sites to search?

Only about 1,800 total produced, so the pickings are limited. Also check out cars.com and bmwusa.com for CPO cars.

Be patient, and good luck in the search.

The only advice I have is to use searchtempest to search craigslist.

I'm in the Washington DC area. I know I'll come across it sooner or later. I just had to voice my frustration!

There have been some nice vehicles for sale in the last couple of months but just not exactly what I wanted.

Be patient. I looked for 4 months and ended up getting a combination I wasn't even looking for. I wanted Imola/black. Then I wanted white/tan, and ended up getting silver/Imola. It wasn't my first choice but I'm glad it was my final. I'm really happy with it.

Avoid Enthusiast Auto like the plague. They have nice Ms that are "generally" in awesome shape, but the price isn't worth it.

Stay with it OP - It took me 6 months.

All minor stuff. Nothing wrong with black and IMO the car looks more aggressive all blacked out. There is a girl that owns an Akrym black one and it is one of the best Z4MC's I have seen on this site.

I almost bought one there and don't see anything wrong with them. If they have what you want and you can negotiate the price you want it might be worth it. Nothing wrong with a car dealer or individual asking whatever they want and the customer deciding what it is worth to them. They are buying and selling them so there is a market for what they are selling and who knows they actually sell them for.

I guess but i'd rather deal with an individual then a used car dealership. Annoying that on two cars before I could really talk with the sellers they swoop in buy and repost for a higher price.

Like everyone keeps saying, be patient. Although owning a Z4M will change your life, in the end, your life isn't dependent on it, so give it time, and it's a pretty decent chunk of change, so make sure you find the right one. Took me about 7 months...

The cars won't drop in value by 5k every year anymore, so this is good and bad... Bad if you can't find one; good if you already have one

Good luck man! Always nice to see someone searching for a specific type of car that is so unique like the Z4M.. I wasn't looking lol. Happened upon it and sold my 335i because of it

From personal experience and what I've found out from others. You'll never get them down to normal market price.

PS - Get on Ohiobimmers.com, I see you're in Cinci.

WOW can't believe how rare these cars are now! I picked mine up 2.5 years ago and there were tons. Then again it was around lease return time for a lot of them. Good luck OP!

PS- you can buy mine for 40K anytime

I ended up flying to Boston to buy mine and driving back, if they're relatively close for a potential buyer and if it is what they want I think it would be worth considering over some of the hassles of flying to see a car and driving and or transporting it back. I would have been happy to pay $1k-$2k more to avoid going to Boston from Cincinnati to get mine (flight, hotel, transportation hassles, uncertainty of what I was going to look at, potential to have to get another flight back without the car, etc.)

If they really can sell them for over market then as any smart business they shouldn't reduce the price. I thought the cars I looked at that they had for sale were more than standard but not outrageous. I also didn't try to bargan at all as I didn't want the cars they had. As for them swooping in and buying them, happened to me also but I don't blame them, just a business doing business. They beat me to the sale, partly because they look at the pictures and information and make a decision quickly.
