Does the Evolve tune support any of the following?
- Remember Sport mode
- Remember DSC mode
- Sequential Shift Lights (like the E46 M3 SMG). I've seen other tunes turn these on for the 6MT M3. Can they be enabled on the Z4M?

Hi guys - I will confirm the options available for the Z4M. They are not as extensive as our list for the E46 M3.

Last I heard the Shift lights only worked some of the times on the E46 6speed manual tranny (when activated by an aftermarket tune) because it depended on which cluster they got during manufacturer install... which was sometimes random. I wouldn't be surprised if none of our clusters work since SMG was never an option for our cars.

P.S. I would have SO much more money in my bank account if forums were never invented!!!!! This is tempting me. I might also buy now but not do my tune until after a full exhaust swap later in the year.

Why don't you do it and then dyno, then get your full exhaust, reset adaptations and get your tune adjusted and dyno again? that way we could see how much of the gains are purely from the exhaust setup vs just tune. Robmcoupe is already doing a dyno of before/after tune with euro headers/cats installed to see how much the tune adds (I might join him finances allowing).

Just a few more days guys! Thanks to everyone here for taking the initiative of setting this up! Everyone at M3Forums greatly appreciates you all opening up the doors for us E46 M3 guys

I got an email back from Imran and clarified some of the options for the Z4M.

Evolve Automotive Z4M Tune Features and Options:
  • RPM Limit increase
  • Top Speed Governor Removal
  • Throttle Mapping
  • Dyno Mode
  • Catless 02 Ready Tune or CEL Only removal
  • Instant-Throttle Map Option - $35
So as of now, unfortunately, no shift lights or Sport Button Memory. With how well Evolve inherently calibrates the mapping of the throttle, I don't think Sport Button Memory is even necessary

It allows your to run your car all the way to redline without being limited to around 6500RPM. Although there are mechanical tricks to get it to pull to redline without a tune, it is a bit tedious.

I'm stoked about getting this tune.

A few questions,
  • RPM Limit increase, what does it increase it to?
  • Instant-Throttle Map Option - sounds cool, what is it?

I believe you can specify which RPM you'd like. I personally go with 8200RPM which seems to be the standard for most S54B32s.

The Instant-Throttle Map is analogous to those Sprint Boosters.

A few informative links of some of Evolve's features:

I'm not sure what your dyno looks like, but what typically happens is that you literally hit a "rev limit" on the dyno around 6500. It stops you from doing a full pull to 8000RPM.

Here's my graph hitting the dyno limit that's naturally embedded our our DMEs.

As beta mentioned earlier and what Imran specified to me, after the group buy closes on Tuesday, they will make a specific link for all of you to financially commit. After all of that is said and done, they will start shipping out the EvolveR cables and PC Software.

No need to send out your DME, just have to email your data file

The z4m doesnt have a limiter for the dyno. Your free to fly, stock!
