Top 10 Wish List

Likely this has been posted previously but now buried somewhere deep in the thread logs. If so, I apologize in advance.

Top 10 wish list!
If you had a $10k-$12k budget, what would be your first most highest priority mods to your z4M supercharged coupe?

I'm looking at:
ESS s/c (used)
headers/catless full exhaust with Flowmaster 5-chamber mufflers (I'm too old for loud rappy cars).
Custom tune (no canned/OTC tunes with s/c & headers)

Where would YOU go from here? (I know it's always easier to spend somebody else' money).

Thanks for your sincere, serious input.

Those are good mods but a lot of people start off with suspension, wheels and tires. More fun for the $ initially I think.

Moton coilovers/camber plates with professional set up/balancing
Stop tech bbk
Welded in rear cage

If another 15k was available

Under "suspension", are you talking like big brakes, coil overs, shock tower brace, etc?

Personally, wheels/tires aren't in my top 5 of "must do" mods. But thankfully there are some great deals on used sets, so it's an option.

Help me out.
Why coilovers/camber plates? Is the z4m that lacking, especially up front?
Same question with the bbk's.
For me (and maybe I should have stated this earlier), my z4m is not a track car.
And a bbk would easily consume half my 10k budget.
I'm just asking. Your wisdom would be appreciated.
As for a cage, is there another way to tighten up the rear like hd sway bar/bushings, etc?

Thanks,
Red

TBH I wouldnt buy a superchargerkit used unless you know what you're doing.

If you buy used you still need the tune and foremost: you need support.

If a SC coupe was really my intent a higher budget would be my first priority. More power is going to accentuate the need for better cooling, braking, tuning etc and quality does not come cheap.

I mainly meant coilovers or shocks and springs if you choose to go that route. Camber plates, upgraded bushings and swaybars are also beneficial. I wouldn't consider big brake kits one of the more common mods that people here do since our stock brakes are more than capable of handling what most of us throw at them but they certainly have their place and more than a few here have done a conversion. Due to the stiffness of our chassis I think shock tower braces are generally considered to be more for looks than function. That said, I do have one.

10k? Csl intake, suspension and Aero. oh and save a K or so for bearings. And that's if the car has been refreshed before, if it's got 50k plus on it, with this age, id be spending that 10k on refurbishing the whole underside of the car.

Yeah, not all of us are related to or have access to the ClintonFoundation for funding.
Car has 15k on it.
Why bearings? Mains or rod?
I wasn't aware of any issues.

Down payment on a second, completely unmolested, Moupe. Use the appreciation to pay for mods on other cars.

We tend to keep things polite and nonpolitical around here. There are other forums for those comments if you're interested.

Got it. Thanks for mentioning it. Wouldn't want anyone running for their safe zone.

This is the only safe zone that I'm aware of. I can't speak for everyone but I like it that way. Is it November yet??? :-)

Dunno. Already voted. Overseas thing.
Probably won't get counted anyway.

OK, back to important things to do to a Z4M coupe.

Rod bearings appeared to be an issue on some of these S54, so most of us monitor wears doing oil analysis. Recommend that you do the same on every oil change to keep an eye on it.

The only thing you need with a supercharger are wider wheels and stickier tires. Without upgrading, you won't be able to put the power down.

I'd go for catless headers too, to reduce backpressure and heat. Suspension and braking mods are nice but not necessary, unless you intend to track the car.
