That would be great, thanks! I'm not planning on doing it myself any time soon, but it's on the list.

who has the best prices on ss headers? The stepped version is outrageously priced on some web sites...

They are always for sale at M3forum, and contact Turner Motorsport, I hear they have them, and there is the super pricey Dinan option, I have the 4.10's in my M, While I'll agree it makes a difference I think people hype them up too much

as for the 4.10 being the most noticeable I'm going to have to agree. I did the poor mans 3.83 by dropping the overall tire diameter size just to see what benefits there would be w/ higher gearing and even this moderate FD increase there was a noticeable amount of more pull For those wondering I tried a buddies 335i wheel setup w/ 255/35/18, overall diameter was 25" vs 26"

I've been hearing the 4.10 gear supply from BMW is drying up rapidly,
For instance Tischer no longer has them on the site, Hopefully because of the link I provided in my 4.10 thread lol But anyone thinking of this mod better hurry up! After driving a stock M Coupe last week it reminded me just how much pull these gears have!

around town there really isn't that much difference,
remember you can always use high gears like 5th and 6th at 30-40 MPH, Ive even heard of people going up a few MPG by doing the gears, On the highway 80 MPH is 3.5K dead on, so that went up a little bit,

Of course you can use a higher gear but how "twitchy" does first gear become? Is it still usable? 90% of my daily driving is in stop-start traffic...

Yes 1st is still totally usable,
You can however launch the car in 2nd with a few thousand revs and it won't bog down and feels great

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...CT_ID=E46M3-RP I've also done 2 mods to the car since I started this thread; GruppeM intake and RPI scoop/skidpads. Next on the list are small things, CDV delete, stubby antenna, ZHP knob, and trim swap. I want to do the 4.10, ESS tune, Supersprint powerloop cans, x pipe and headers... but I honestly don't have an extra grand to blow on my car every month so I'm trying to figure out where to start.

I am also waiting for the ESS tune myself, PM Roman and let him know you are interested too, I'm trying to get a group buy list and get the price of the tune down, I also wanted to try the headers but worried about emissions testing in NJ

With my RPI exhausts i think the lower revs the better for city driving! :P Good to hear that first gear is still usable though. It's a possible future mod.

No installation hardware inside the diff is BMW specific, (bearings and shims I'm talking) so any shop specializing in diffs can do it with in stock parts, Remember to bring, or have the install Castrol SAF-XJ as the oil! (or SAF-XJ with FM booster) Don't use/let them use any other oil! and if you buy new gears you will need to perform a 1200 mile break in oil change again, I just did my change this week with SAF-XJ with FM booster, and let Roman know your in it with me

Its sold in 0.5 liter amounts from BMW dealers, Just bring a empty clean jug and make sure you SEE them pumping the correct fluid in the jug, you can get away with 2 liters however,
