I called Otto's BMW in Ottawa and they told me that BMW Whitby had 9 sets, and that my local dealer could order them. I called the local dealer who ordered them yesterday and I just picked them up. I'll try them out when I get home tonight. I've been interested in a set of these for a while but they were always hard to find. I'm surprised to find one place with a relatively large number, and to be able to get them so quickly and easily.

Just went for a spin and discovered that these covers have apparently cured the squeak in my top when it's lowered and I hit a bump. Totally awesome!!

I could be wrong, but I believe these were used when the owner installs the hardtop on the Z4 roadster. But they can be installed when the top is down, however, must be manually removed before putting the soft top up.

I have a set that were included with my roadster when I bought it.

Purely a top down trim piece and look great on the car.

Removal can be fully automatic ...just hit the top up button.
Only problem is they aren't auto stored.
You have to stop and pick them up off the road.

I would expect that the covers would be damaged if you did that. Did you break your covers?

I had inquired a couple months ago and was told BMW Canada still had stock of both black and beige covers. Given the age of the car most dealers likely won't be stocking this part, but if you pay in advance any Canadian dealer should be able to order it in.

The colours have different part numbers, not sure what each is though.

Just be sure and remove before hitting the top up switch.

I have a manual top and the covers actually stop me from lifting it when I forget to remove them first.

No they are quite resilient .....even when you don't learn the first time.
