Building My Own Z4 2.5i
Ok so my brother has owned a couple Z4s years back but they were 3.0i's and also automatic, ive driven them and actually liked how the ride was so I decided to get my own Z4 but manual and a 2.5i with 85k on the clock. Ive owned 3 hondas before this that were quite jdmed out so I really needed something new, bmw was the way to go for me as all my buddies owned E30s. Ill post pics along the way for everyone to check out and for me to document my build, all comments and suggestions are welcome! Thanks for viewing!
The first day I brought her home! A couple months later I got her a new face for 250$$$!!! MOCK FIT BEFORE I GET HER PAINTED Was debating if I should get an aftermarket steering wheel, Nardi or maybe the M just gotta wait and see. Stay tuned for more upgrades and progress, may take some time but shell be where I would want her to be in time Last edited by JohnnyBravo_e85; 02-13-2015 at 12:06 PM.. |

I like the face transplant you got in mind mate, and I like the wheel, but you will be loosing the airbag if you install that?
Nice looking car, how about some more pics to document the before looks, both inside and out. : ) also specs? Upgrades by the po? Or fully stock?

i would have used the z4m wheel, its absolutely beautiful to look at and use, my fave of all the cars ive owned and it retains the airbag which is imo essential, look into that as they arent massively expensive!!

Heres an interior shot of my car, I wrapped her in 3M Vinyl I got off of Amazon so I can protect the stock dash, door handle, and center console. The silver interior wasnt doing it for me.

Wow! How the heck did you land that M bumper for $250? That'll be my next project in a year.

Love the car bud, but yeah for me too safety comes first, so airbags are a must for me.
Nice what you've done to the interior mate, but what the hell happened to the rear view mirror?

I know a guy that lost half of his teeth on a non-airbag steering wheel when someone ran a red light. Months and months of recovery

It was one of the first things I wanted to do to my car so I just kept searching and searching on craigslist and found someone that was parting out their M, sold a fixed gear bike that I build and only road for 10 miles to get it so I guess I got really lucky haha

Yea same for me, but the wheel was cheap so I had to buy it haha, the rearview mirror is a broadway mirror its slightly bigger comparing to the stocky its a easy snap on and off

Ouch! Man I cant even imagine! But as 2pac would say, THUG LIFEEE hahaha but yea I got it for cheap so I might just sell the wheel for double and save for an M wheel, roughly how much do those things go for now?

Keep an eye on the classifieds here, they come up now and then with/without the ///M shifter. Cool mate about the clipon on the mirror dude, I actually quite like the mirror, a vast improvement on the z3 rear view mirror.
Any upgrades in regards to suspension in mind? Just having a closer look at your dash, looks like you did a very nice job there mate. Very nice indeed. Lucky so and so, looks like you've got heated seats too.. ;P Can't wait to see the bumper fitter and sprayed. Btw mate, if I were you (and thinking of doing so myself) I would fibreglass over the holes for the head light sprayers, and disconnect those sprayers. Will give a much, much cleaner look. Lol I just realized that your zed doesn't have those head light sprayers anyways, so that is great.

As for the sprayer holes I was thinking the same exact thing, was gonna go to home depot and get small piece of fiberglass and do everything at the same time also painting the yellow reflectors. |

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You would have to download the PDF file in order to get the aux installation guide in the link below. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=637145 |

Nice ride, really like what you're doing. I have carbon fiber (CF) side mirrors, CF front lip, and CF stubby antenna. I would LOVE the CF front dash but it's $600! It looks gorgeous IMO. Does the 3M CF vinyl look too fake, or do you give it a thumbs up? I have fake CF rear license plate cover and fake CF kidney grills. It bothers me just a little, but then I remember I'm not rich and I work hard for my money lol
