Why Why Why

Why are z4m owners under estimating their car values..

seriously? at the risk of coming off like a pr@#k, they aren't. some dealers are in the business of inflating values, and as w.c. fields used to say, never give a sucker an even break. if someone is willing to pay that price then good for the dealer and bad for the buyer. just because a car is a low volume model does not a collector car make. the car is still on a depreciation curve and how long it will continue is anyone's guess. a dino was a ferrari red headed step child for more than 25 years; who knew good examples would one day command 250+? for now the adage applies: it's only worth what someone will pay for it.

Isn't that the dealership that buys low mileage Z3Ms and Z4Ms then charges an insane price for them? I guess if you had ridiculous amounts of money and just HAD to have one of those cars, that would be the place to go. They must be moving the cars to continue selling them at these inflated prices, but I imagine they must sit there for a looooong time before the right person comes along. I can't think of anyone being in their right mind and paying $15k+ more for a car with just 20-30k fewer miles on it.

Ha, don't go wandering onto M5Board.com and talking about EAG...such a polarizing company. Many buyers like that they can go to EAG and purchase a turn-key car...price is not the issue for these folks, time and effort in finding a perfect car are - I totally get this. Other buyers are upset that EAG swoops in (often in hours) to pick up cars for sale on enthusiast boards and then lists them for thousands more - I get this as well. (I'm not even going to get into the other argument about how much money EAG sinks into cars to recondition this, as it must vary widely.)

One thing I have NOT heard is a person that EAG buys from being disappointed. They sell their car in hours/days, no tire kickers, no worry about payment, etc.

In the end, it's a free market and the market dictates value.

Wish that price could be for a M Coupe here in Norway...
I paid 86k USD (with todays currency) back in 2010 for my SI Coupe. Now they go for around 50k...

In norway you're best off by driving a tesla...
Use the system.... don't fight it

Whats more expensive? A (new) M5 in norway or an aventador (new) in the US?
(I can't predict the outcome, but being able to compare is....ridiculous...)

I hate Tesla! I see one on each and every corner here. (Currently 173 used Model S for sale here) Remember that the population in Norway is a little over 5 mill.

A new M5 is directly converted to USD begins at 284k. There is one new Aventador for sale in Norway. Price: 915.000 USD...

Lol at tesla
I feel your pain

Only heavy government subsidizing can cause that a small country with 5million inhabitants is the 2nd largest market for tesla's...

Aventador in the US is about 40k, so still a bit more expensive. But a Huracan in the US is certainly cheaper than a M5 in norway....

Sorry that it apparently takes an Einstein to figure out that 40k is a typo and that it should be 400k.

Let's look at every typo everyone makes on this forum.....
Should be fun....

Dude, when someone says a Coupe 3.0 costs 86k and an M5 costs 284k, my grasp on reality has deteriorated.

I actually sold my car through them, very nice guys and they seem to know everything about M cars. They specialize in getting low mileage cars and getting them into like-new condition and I believe they also come with some sort of warranty. Plus they actually gave me what I was asking for it.

My car sat for about a month or two at most and it was comparable to this one considering the mileage. I haven't looked at the going price for these cars in the last couple months but last time I checked they had actually gone up in value. If you think this car is worth $15k then you are crazy or are thinking of a non-M version.

Also I'd say they probably have 1/3 to 1/2 of the current market for these cars on their lot so they can pretty much ask what they want. It is a very cool place, if you're in the area it is worth checking out. Z8s, M3 Lightweights, low-mileage clownshoes, they sell it all.

I read somewhere that the Norwegians are the happiest people on earth. They must get some pretty good socialist Kool-aid over there.
By the way, i purchased my 2007 Mcoupe back in 2009 for $31k with 18k miles so i think i am doing pretty good.

Or they have the lowest percentage of car-enthusiasts

That's not what I said. What I said is that I wouldn't pay $15k MORE for the same car with just 20k miles or so less on it.

"This Z4 M Coupe has been enthusiast owned and it should go to a new home where this last-of-it’s-breed machine will be treated the way it deserves."

Like thrown around a track

Hahaha...i think it would be hard to be a car-enthusiast when gasoline is almost $11/gal. I believe they have the world's most expensive gas price (even though they are one of the major oil producer).

Some people have a lot of money and like cars. I'd buy it right now if I had an extra $40k laying around. They're getting harder to find these days with low mileage.

unless your gonna keep it hidden away in garage, low mileage isn't really very important, id much rather have a well looked after specimen from an enthusiast, than a 8-9 year old car, that's been turned over a few times a year. After the first spirited drive, probably most of the rubber bits would disintegrate.
