Was gone for 4 days on a business trip. back today and did 5 coupes from home. 2 of the 5 were salvaged!! Holy crap. both were hit twice. I have only had 3 come up total in all the cars I have run and today 2/5.

Weekly bump

We've only done 600 roadsters and 445 coupes - ~20% of the total. Still a lot to do but we can do it!

So, of the ones you have done: how many of each have been salvaged so far? 10%? Or more?

^ without any limits to its use or validation, I could see a script easily running through it 1000s of times. However, I don't know if I could still do such a thing. Its been years since I programmed anything remotely like that.. But perhaps someone else here could?

Is it ok to do the checks on this site? It doesn't appear to have a daily limit so far...

it looks good to me. I found a car with an "accident" so I'm not sure if its totalled, so just put "accident" instead of "salvage" if you see that, and the source website in the right-most column

Everyone move your checks over to Geniusvin.com
I did 56! cars today. Whats amazing is that it also shows cars that have been in an accident, check out my latest search, accidents are so common its crazy. Unless the website says there are title issues or serious accident, please mark them as "ACCIDENT" instead of "SALVAGE"

Now we can finally hit our stride, with no captchas and no IP blocks

The most efficient way, is to split your browser into 2 windows. Spreadsheet on one half of the monitor, the checker on the other, and then just copy paste. Maybe put your name on some so that nobody is editing the same cells at the same time

In my case, Geniusvin.com shows an inaccurate history including a "destroyed" event during my ownership in a state my car has not been in. Besides knowing what I did to my vehicle, I immediately had a Carfax report made and it shows clean and accurate. I'd be careful drawing conclusions on any Geniusvin.com output and publishing your Z4 VIN list publicly - I'm quiet upset with the Geniusvin.com results.

I added info for my car. Also, you can use http://www.bmwmdata.com/Home.html to check the paint/interior/options that the car had when it left the factory. My car has a tan top, but left the factory black.

I think if there is question about the accuracy of the data on the other website, we should just keep slugging along as we have been. We just have not had as many people participating as we thought. I try to put in 10 cars per/day, as my home and work computers allow. it literally takes less than 5 minutes - I just have to try to time it to be after when I did it the day before. If we had a larger pool of data enterers the list would shrink quickly.
