I will complete 9 years in my '07 Z4M Coupe this weekend. Its been an absolute blast - it showed me fear the first year of ownership and then taught me how to drive over the next one. And the remaining years have just been amazing to continue learning to drive and get that little bit more each time I am out on track. And its also a fun car on road trips, usually to and from tracks Today I feel like I want to keep the car for another 10 years if it plays ball.
Pickup back in Oct/Nov 2007 Last track day at VIR in May, 2015 - the last three years the car has seen a track weekend per year and sits in the garage most of the time as I am tracking a TT RS out west. At Road Atlanta in Nov, 2011 |

To all those who have been "married" to the car for almost 10 years....
Have you guys ever need to change the transmission due to wear and tear etc? If yes, at what mileage? Or any other major repairs (and at what mileage)? |

No really major repairs I guess, but the list of replacements has grown in the last couple of years;
- Engine fan - Battery - ABS module - One of the front brake caliphers Currently at ~31.000 miles. |

Only thing that has required me paying out of pocket for mechanic work, besides the normal valve adjustment (and VANOS bolt upgrade while he's in there) was a failed MAS.
Transmission shifts just as well as day one. EDIT: Knock on wood.

Knock on wood, no "major" repairs. I've got 59k on mine as of this weekend (road trip to Louisville). I did almost DD her the first few years (except for months with snow, heh the car has seen snow twice, once was at 1,700 miles on track at mid ohio.... )
Ive had service 1 & 2 done, 2 mas sensors at the same time right at about 40k, the starter went at about 50k (autozone e46 M3 replacement) passenger side window regulator 40k, and a battery (O'reily autoparts). Ill need some rubber bits next year... and maybe Ill break down and do the windshield wiper motor thing next year (either a new one, or that cleaning tip you can find on these forums). I should probably do the Vanos bolt thing... she's an early build date
