Where to purchase LED Angel Eyes (Tekarbon?)
I have been looking all over the internet for a set of four LED angel eyes and I can't come across a single site that sells them. All I can find are CCFL rings or full headlight assemblies with angel eyes. I just need the angel eyes. I saw a set of LED angel eyes called tekarbon? but can't find them anywhere. If somebody could please shed some light on this that would be highly appreciated. thanks!

mfanatic325 made a few threads about this. Tekarbon used to install these into your headlights as a service, but they stopped offering this recently. He posted the name of the LED rings that his shop installed into his car as a replacement for the Tekarbon ones he used to have when the deer smashed his front end. They should be in this same sub-forum down below the past couple months.

Alright, I just finished up something at work so I had some time to find the thread that mfanatic325 started:
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1168125 mfanatic325 posted the brand that his shop used and yousefnjr posted where he found them online along with sizing information. |

Yousefnjr said the factory size for the inner ring is about 2.75" (70mm) and the outer is slightly larger at 3" (~76mm). He ordered a set of 70mm and 2 sets of 80mm to experiment, so you might want to PM him to see if he's gotten around to the project yet. Another member Pungo might also have some info since he's done the mod himself, although I'm not sure if he used CCFL's or LED's.

I just installed angel eyes in my '06 M Roadster. Got one headlight done - will work on the other soon. Yes, the smaller one is 70mm, the larger is 80mm. Got them on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/400478812293...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
or search Ebay for "6K Xenon White Universal Fit LED Angel Eye Halo Ring 80mm" (or 70mm). Lots of work. You have to cut open the headlight (you can't "bake" it open). I am thinking of doing a DIY YouTube video but I"m not sure I want to spend the time. Tekarbon does not do this anymore but Umnitza will. You have to contact them - the service is not mentioned on their web site. Cost is about $600 plus shipping. I just don't feel right sending $2000 worth of headlights to someone when I know I can do just as good a job (if not better). Last edited by GaryDZ; 11-25-2015 at 11:16 AM.. |

For what it's worth, I DO NOT recommend giving Umnitza business. They don't deserve it. I first dealt with them over 5 years ago, and have never gone back. Long story short: terrible attitude and customer service. I dealt with the shop owner no less.

I saw these the other day on ebay. I wonder if a light like this might be the ticket. It projects the light sideways. There are similar lights sometimes referred to as mushroom lights that project the light to the side off of a curved surface, but those usually project forward, as well. The BA15S base would require some dremel work and replacing the socket in the plastic mount, but that has been done.
