Fitment Advice

Hey all, I'm dense when it comes to wheel/tire fitment. I can't for the life of me make sense of it. One of these days I'll have an "ah-HA!" moment. Till then I need some advice. I'm looking at a used set of tires/wheels for winter use.

Would the following spec fit on my 2005 2.5i? It's a squared set.

Tires: 225/50R17
Wheel Specs: 17 x 8, +35 offset

I find the E90post calculator the best tool for figuring out wheel & tire changes.
