Electronic Oil Check

Does anyone know of any problems with this system? I read the manual and it ssaid after driving for a while to press the clock button on the dash. I did that then tried holding it down and got nothing. I'm sure the button works as I've used it to change the time before.

I've only had the car for three weeks so I'm still getting the hang of it. The oil level is spot on according to the dipstick but it would be nice for the display to tell me.

Its a 2006 Z4M Roadster.

Thanks

I don't believe there is any electronic oil level check with the engine in the M cars - the electronic check is done for the N52 series engines, which do not have a dipstick. There is an additional 'add-on' owner's manual for the M series that details the differences with those cars.

Ah that's good to know. Yeah I had a flick through that but not recently. At least it will stop me resetting my trip distance out of frustration.

Yep, we just have the dip stick, but there's a yellow oil light that will come on for about 30 seconds (accompanied by a beep) after you shut the engine off if the oil gets much below the midpoint of the dip stick safe zone.
