At the end of the day, I still get compliments on my car and I still love driving it. So who really cares if some website says its worth whatever?

Some may find this interesting. I'm in the old car hobby and as such, I have 5 vehicles insured with agreed value coverage with Grundy International. This week I approached Grundy to see if they'd consider insuring the 2008 E86 3.0si. While obviously it's not an antique (25 years or older), they have provisions for offering insurance on "special interest" or "collectible" vehicles. After submitting photos of front, rear, and sides, the interior, and engine compartment, they've accepted it and I've had it added to my policy for the agreed value of $20,000. So while I don't think 3.0si coupes will ever be a good investment, I do believe as far as depreciation on excellent examples they may have bottomed out and (price wise) could remain stable.

They do insure convertibles and muscle cars, as long as it they are not a daily driver nor being raced. I just switched over to Grundy for my 2006 Z4MR and am saving quite a bit over USAA, which is saying a lot.

$2K more than I paid -- I'll take it!

I tried getting a quote from Hagerty a year or so ago, no dice. Perhaps I should go shopping for insurance...
