Bulb Out Indicator

My "bulb out" indicator came up on the dash this morning. Shortly after I put on my right blinker and got a "fast blink", usually a telltale of a blinker bulb being out.

I put on all the lights and the hazard when a got home to inspect the car but didn't see any bulbs out. Is there anything that can be causing the warning light and the fast blink?

The "bulb out" indicator seems to be resistance finicky to the point where it might sense that a bulb filament while still working, may be about to go. That said, I'd be surprised that a fast blink could be cause by the same situation (would think a blown bulb or compromised wire could only do that).

Maybe compare all the lights that blink with the left turn signal to the ones that blink for the right turn signal. Perhaps you missed one (the hamburger light maybe?)

Hamburgers aren't monitored.
Are you sure both front turn signals on each side are working?
Remember, there's 2 on each side.

Also, you'll get a fast blink even if the failed bulb isn't a turn signal.
I've gotten it for brake lights.

Interesting. So how does the fast blink happen if a brake bulb is out but the bulb isn't being activated (brake pedal not depressed, turn signal on)? I've got my "old school" hat on.

Yea, new school.
The car runs a bulb check when you first turn the key on.
I have all LEDs on the rear, and it's quite a light show.
Once it sets the bulb-out warning, it will fast blink the turn signals until it gets a good indication from that bulb.

I have that idiot light on for months now. Checked all bulbs are working in dark garage. I think it might be daytime running light because it is turn off so don't know if one of them is out. Scanner tells me it is driver side headlight or signal but they are working fine.

What trigger that light was I had a hard stop and parked my car. The next time I started the car the light came on. I think it could be the adaptive brake light since we can't see that unless someone is following you.

Oh, yea. The "panic" brake light would be a real sleeper.
It is tested at start-up, and will set the warning light, and will result in fast blinkage.

No way to check it without taking the bulb out.
And Surprise!
When they added that light in the facelift, they didn't add an access hole in the body.
You have to take the assembly out to get at it.

Still baffled by the bulb out warning. Parked it in the dark garage and had the fiance do a walk around and tried brakes, high beams, everything. Everything is working fine.

I'm hoping if there's a light on its way out it goes soon so I can replace it. The fast blink is pretty annoying.

Either I missed it before or it just went out. It was the inner right headlight turn signal bulb.

10 points to StickMon for getting it right! Haha

Makes sense as walking around the car you would think the front signal was ok since it still lights up with one bulb. Easy to miss.
