Summer Mats

So, yesterday I walk into the local BMW dealership here in Toronto Canada looking to grab a set of summer mats with the Z4 logo. And guess what??

NLA

How can summer mats for a 2007 Z4 be NLA ?!?!??! I bought a whole carpet brand new for an 1989 E30 and can't buy mats for a Z4. Insanity.

On a completely similar note, recommendation on where to buy a really good set of fitted summer mats?

I bought mine from BMW of South Atlanta last year, and at that time they had the lowest price. Not sure that's still the case but here's the link: http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/s...ng=floor%20mat

Edit: Cheaper here: https://getbmwparts.com/parts/2007/B...?siteid=214672

I bought a set of M mats for the Z4M from ECSTuning. They just took a few weeks to arrive as they were probably made to order. I think they were OEM if I recall correctly.

Thanks for the recommendations. I think I'm going to be driving down from Toronto to Niagara Falls NY (US Mail Boxes) to pick up a lot of parts from the USA. There's just nothing available up this way and the Stealership pricing is insane or stuff is NLA.

The exchange is still a downer but ECS for example offers free shipping on most things to a U.S. address.

Not completely true - "FREE" shipping ONLY on orders over $200

Well, you sir are correct.
It feels like its free compared to the exorbitant costs involved in UPS shipping and brokerage charged to ship direct to Canada.

The duties are still due of course at the border.

I've been buying parts for my Porsche and now my Z4 from the states for over 20 years. I never under any circumstance buy from a supplier or private party who won't ship USPS. The FedEx etc love to charge ridiculous brokerage and add-ons which USPS doesn't. It make take a bit longer but for me that's never been an issue....well worth it to save the money.

I like to take a drive from Toronto to Niagara Falls NY and US Mailboxes to pick up stuff. Usually stop for breakfast, pick up my stuff, head home through Ontario wine country and buy some bottles...... eventually make it home. Makes for a nice Saturday morning.....

Oddly enough I got my last set of ///M floor mats on Amazon, and if I recall correctly, they were only $75 or so, with free prime shipping. OEM, and delivered straight away. I don't know if they still have them on there, but it's worth a look.

Us Vancouver folk do sonething similar, it's about a 10 minute drive from my house to the border. Buy amazing Mexican food for dinner, gas that's 30-40% cheaper from the Chevron there vs by my house, pick up my stuff for a buck a package and usually get free shipping or significantly faster shipping than letting the carrier bring it across.

Added benefit, some border guards are more lenient on what needs taxes and duty paid, not bad getting parts without tax added on!
