Guys can someone please PM me pics of the engine bay ? i need pics of the piping, i need to see what's all the fuss about. how can a bunch of pipes be that hard.

If someone can illustrate on his car and show me, it will really help me take a decision if i go ESS + no warranty.

Beedub, I know you'll do me that favor (free tuning mayhem )

I bet if all ESS owners would give me their details of their installation and the things that went wrong or the things they paid attention to.
I can compile a list and give it to ESS to include in the manual and post it on the forum for people to consult with

it isnt that bad tika!! your making it sound slightly worse than it is.... its just an invoved install... i guess they are all involved!!!

Re the evolve tune... i dont see how they can better the ESS item, i got perfect AFRs and a nice safe tune..... 11.5ish AFR is right where i wana be, im sure if i rang ESS and asked them to max out my 500 kit, i bet they easily could, a safe equilibrium is the difficulty imo.... ill call imran anyway and see what he thinks!!

Yes yes yes!!! Starting the week after next John will be building an adapter harness for our current Z4M turbo kit to make it plug-n-play with AEM's Generation 2 EMS and will be developing a tune for all 5 stages of turbo systems. It feels really good to get this project back on the books since we already have kits in stock that can ship. I also can't wait to drive a 1,000rwhp Z4M, ha ha.

No RHD kit now for the Z4M. If the LHD kits sell well, then we may make an RHD option for that car. There is considerably more room under the hood so it will be easier to do than the HPF RHD M3 turbo kit was.

Chris, you guys will be stocking the AEM adapter harness as a separate part number? Also, this will be based on a AEM Series 2 PNP box correct?

And how in the world will you fit enough tire to handle 1000!

Yes, we will sell the AEM and AEM adapter harness separately, but there are also other electronics you will need like our black jumper box, etc. John Reed is working on the adapter harness as we speak.

A 305 sized sticky tire does pretty well with 1,000rwhp.

*sigh* maybe too good to be true?

is anyone a software engineer or know about this stuff? how difficult would it be for someone to 'make' (for lack of a better word) a new DME that would work for our cars??

IF HPF needs to replace the original Z4M DME with a 3rd party one, then I think that their turbo project reached a dead end - at least as far as a roadworthy vehicle is concerned.
I doubt that a custom DME will be capable to properly take over all the tasks related to the original one. E.g.: emission control, instrument cluster datafeed, DSC, and so on.

It may worth investigating if the E46 M3 DME can be fitted and work properly on a Z4M.
It may be the most simple path, although it would also have some drawbacks - for example an E46 DMW would talke the Z4M from Euro4 down to Euro3 emission class.
