Can Z4M DSC be turned completely off?
As the title says...I'm trying to prep the car for it's first autocross and like my E46, I wanted to see if I could turn the DSC completely off (buy holding it for 5 seconds for the DSC light and yellow brake like to come on).
Oddly enough...the yellow brake light never came on when I pushed and held the DSC light...what gives? I don't want to have DSC on...as it usually stops the tires from rotating. Can DSC be turned completely off or can you just press it once and it can only extend the limits? |

the m's only have dsc, so simply pressing the button once deactivates dsc entirely. the standard z4's have dtc on top of dsc, which is disabled with a single press of the button. dsc is subsequently deactivated entirely by pressing and holding the button in a standard z4.

Funny thing is, coming from a z4 3.0, I was wondering if the z4M I first test drove had a broken stability control system, since it wouldn't go into the intermediate mode

lol I remember the first time I tracked the Z4M. I was all worried that it would be too much for me to handle. Since it was new to me, I wanted to take it easy and keep DSC on...
One lap later, I turned DSC off and have never tracked with it on ever again |

I turned it off from the beginning and kept it like that, takes some times use to getting the power down (I used to autocross a 325xi), but it's so fun! Here is the first run someone got from behind me....dropped the clutch alittle too high in RPM and some sand at the start gets you this. Took too much speed into the cones and knocked a set down when I got alittle loose, whoops (Ignore the cone hits...I didn't know where my front right end is yet!) |

Thanks, I did not know that. Everything I've seen posted before & the M supplementary manual just said it was completely off.

4th Autocross on the car and still learning how to NOT understeer and oversteer. I've seem to do it every time it's my first run, lol Certainly seems completely off. |
