Z4 Shifters
We have been testing these for the last year and have come together to bring a fairly priced shifter that is solid and works well with all Z4 manual transmissions. |

This shifter mounts very close to the location of the original OEM shifter but you cannot use the original mounting holes on the tunnel. You have to test fit it first and make sure it shifts through all the gears, then after marking the holes (just a little bit farther towards the front of the car than where the OEM shifter holes are located, no cutting of the trans tunnel is required. I have the spring mounted one and it is incredible.

I'll take a photo of mine and give you the length when I have some time this weekend.

I will be able to take some photos of my install within the next few days. This shifter is what a lot of guys use for racing M3's and there are 2 lengths, mine is the correct one for the Z4M car. You will not be disappointed. The shift knob includes the lockout button for reverse and is part of the CNC lever, so no, it does not screw off as the lever and knob are one piece. I still have my center console out so I can take some photos of the install for you. |

Gday Frank, i already have a custom one, but was just wondering about the length as i cut mine down rather a fair bit. Looks like a great bit o kit that, and really well made, the other much much better thing about it than mine is the rubber boot, that looks smick as. I might need to steal that idea.

Sorry for not responding earlier, I am not on the Zpost as much as I used to be.
There are 2 versions tall and short. The short is 10" and the tall is 12". For the Z I would suggest the short. I would go with an Alcantara boot, but they fit in the stock configuration of a street car. Attached are pics of both, we just came out with a V3. |

PM M-cast. Great enthusiast, great resource for Z4MC and Z4 non-M builds for track or street. Has helped me a lot with my personal build on a 2007 Z4M and have this shifter in my z4mc with the spring and lockout and it is incredible. Meant for the track but just as home in every day driving for the more enthusiastic of our daily drivers of this great Z4 platform. Enjoy...
