Any updates?
Heard the clip on youtube and it sounds awesome, especially compared to the weak sounding exhausts out there for the M.

We are working on the exhaust guys. Please hang in there and I promise you, it will be worth it. We just want to make sure the sound and performance is just right. It takes some time for the development. After all, we arent a company like AFE, where a car is dropped off and then one week later, a product is made. We have to do several dyno sessions/tests under different conditions before our designs are finalized.

woohoo can't wait!! Did you guys finally decide on a muffler system or a muffler by-pass (eliminator) system?

They're all way overpriced. I used to think Ducati full-system exhausts were expensive, which included 2 carbon fiber cans, two 2-into1 headers and a lot of stainless steel length and bends inbetween. Hell, you can get an all titanium system with titanium cans cheaper than these Z4 M full systems, header to muffler. Ridiculous. I think the all titanium system, header to mufflers, on my MV is only around $4,000. And it's a work of art.

motorcycle systems are relatively cheaper than cars. but yeah BMS has a ridiculous price for the cat-back system. i think it was close to 3k plus shipping and they are using magnaflow parts.

my custom magnaflow was around $700 everything installed. and its probably an identical system.

Guess you've never owned an Italian bike. This stuff is high-end, and because they're all made in Italy as well, very expensive. So when I can buy that cheaper than a basic stainless steel car exhaust, that's uncool. The MV Agusta factory stainless steel half-system on my bike (cat eliminator mid section and high flow slip-ons plus an entire race ECU) was only $2500, and for sure was far more difficult to manufacture than any half system I've seen for my car.

-I don't know where you are getting your information, but the BMS exhaust is $1699, about the same as the cheaper of the two Supersprint systems and about $400 less than the Powerloop. The only Magnaflow parts in the BMS system are the mufflers and the tips (which need to be fitted individually). Everything else is built from scratch, including the hangars.

I find it hard to believe that all other cars can get full proper (meaning headers or cat back) exhausts for under $1500 and all we can get is a pair of mufflers and 10cm worth of piping for $1500+.
You can even get full dual exhausts for other car with proven gains for under $1500.

Here in Australia there is a SS dealer and they are charging 16K for full SS set up, probably more now the dollar took a big hit. 16K for an exhaust thats a joke.

$1700 for a pair of mufflers and a x pipe. magnaflow mufflers are only around 200 bucks each. i have a feeling you will bring up the excuse of extensive R&D but in not buying it. those would sell like hot cakes if they were in the in the 1200 range.i guess i assumed when you make a product you make it at an affordable price....better than the competition. and BMS doesnt even let you split the system.

its a beautiful system and sounds great though.

I really hope people stop falling for these 'high-end' exhausts for our cars. Theres absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be able to pick up a twin can system for ~500 or less.
Just as a reference I had a full exhaust 'built' on my previous car from the header outs to the tips for $550. That included piping, fabricated y-pipe, high flow cat, can, tip, and labor.
For the Z4M you're talking about two short bends with flanges, two offset inlet/dual outlet cans with fabbed up hangers, and 4 tips welded on an angle to fit the valence. Really not $1200-2500 worth of product in my mind

I felt the same way most of you do about the cost. However, I absolutely hated having our car sound like a metal coffee can rattling around and had to do something about it.

I ended up buying the BMS exhaust and I have to be 100 percent honest....I love the system. Excellent sound, great looks, light weight, and a noticeable torque increase...

I'm in no way affiliated with BMS and I rarely post on here, but the BMS exhaust is the real deal and I highly recommend it to anyone in the market. The sound and the quality are top notch.

With that said, i'm definitely interested in what RPI is doing here and will be keeping a close eye on it. If the system seems better to me, then i'll switch.

Euro header, Euro or Larini cats, BMS from there seems to be as good a combo as any, but let's see what RPI comes up with.

What syste did you order, because i am interested in the stage 2 bms exhaust. I talked to chris and they might even facricate a stage 3 exhaust, theen i would buy if the price is good enough.
