WTB: Z4 M Coupe -- N/M Found It
Looking to buy a Z4 M Coupe. Preferences: Bone Stock - or easily removable upgrades. Nav / Bluetooth Mileage under 35K Would love a sepang bronze, then blue, then white. No imola interior, no woodgrain. Looks are important, this is for my wife... She has done an incredible job with her car, and it looks as good as new at 80K miles. She currently has an 01 Miata (Evo Orange, Hardtop, Supercharged) and it is one of the more unique cars around. We are keeping it, as the car is a blast. The Z4 is even more distinctive, and the rarity is far greater. No great rush, but something I'd like to do soon. We have discussed this choice at length, and are ready to buy. It will go to a good home. It will have a lot of TLC and be garage kept. It will see 5K miles per year. It will get to hit the Autox course once or twice a year, and an occasional lapping day at the track. I believe exercising the car is good practice James Looks like I am too young on the forum to receive PMs. Last edited by Geauxkart; 03-21-2012 at 11:35 AM.. Reason: Found one.... |

Good luck to you and your wife! You should be able to find a blue or white one no problem. I think there are only two or three Sepang coupe owners that regularly post here, I can't speak for them but mine is over your mileage limit and, besides, I'm pretty set on keeping it.

Speaking from experience....make sure you do your research if buying from out of state. Regardless of what Carfax states, get the VIN, take it to a local dealer, and have them look up the history on it. I almost purchased a Z4MC that had a clean Carfax, but after further research, I found out that it was a BMW Driving School Vehicle!

Don't knock the wood until you see it in person. I was convinced I was going to rip it out and install carbon leather... but when I saw it in person I was sold. It really doesn't photograph well. I have yet to have one person see it in person and not love the combo.
Let's hope you can find it in bronze! There needs to be more of us on here

Found a Sepang with all the right stuff. 5000 miles on the clock. Fair Price IMO.
Patience pays off... Will be here in about 2 weeks, I am having it shipped via Intercity. |

Yup, that's the car. I have high res images of all dings and scratches, I have a friend in the area that is a car enthusiast and a bit of a photo buff.
Not going into details, but I am buying the car. I do appreciate the positive feedback on the mechanical evaluation. I have seen the negative reports, and have discussed with the seller and the 2 friends I sent up to look at it. Seller even offered to cancel the sale if I was unhappy or wary - and he has my $$ in hand at this point! I think the description of the flaws is a bit exaggerated, and putting a few $$ on paintless dent repair won't kill me to remove a lot of this. Flawless maintenance, extremely low mileage, distinct color we wanted, options we wanted, and a perfect interior more than make up for a few small scratches IMO. Really, it's not that bad!! Maybe I'll be posting a beat up Sepang Coupe for sale in a month.... |

Indeed congrats. We don't know what you paid (not asking either). But at end of the day, there is no such thing as a good asset or a bad asset, rather, there are good prices and bad prices for all assets. If you paid the right price for what the car is worth to you in whatever condition its in, you're doing well.

Congrats on the purchase...Im extremely jealous of the color. IDK how everyone buys cars that are far away, because I would be too impatient to wait two weeks to drive a M coupe I purchased!

Car is at my Dads house now, won't be shipped here for another week or so. The car is not trashed... The football sized dent is about an inch in diameter, and can barely be picked up with a camera... It is a door ding if you look really close, but no scratch. Here is a pic from yesterday of the dent: The fang scrape is to be expected, and the 2 other tiny scratches are buffable. The car is at the paintless dent repair specialist now. The owner dropped what he was doing, and the 6 cars in line to take care of this for me / my Dad. He liked the car... The ride home was the first time the car has seen rain. My Dad, nor the prior owner have even hit redline yet... Already have the intravee ipod/XM parts on order, a CSL header to be coated, skidplates, stubby antenna, vanos filter kit, and factory alarm upgrade. Lots of goodies coming in the mail this week! The only other mod will be a clear bra. Damn, I have a lucky wife, huh?? |
