Z4m S54 valve adjustment
I've read most of the posts regarding the valve adjustment on the S54 engine. Most, or none, make reference to the use of any gasket sealer on the valve cover gasket. Is this just installed dry; or what type sealant have others used?
Thanks in advance. Anyone have a shim kit for sale or loan/rent? Best regards, Ed |

Yes there is a sealant, and you only use it on the corners. Check my thread under my sig, I have pictures, a decent replacement sealant (the bmw sealant is no longer available) and TIS pages that go into detail.

And don't dawdle after you apply it.
It starts to set up pretty quick. I had to take a Mulligan on my first try because I took too much time futzing with the gasket placement. |
