So the one on eBay is just the windshield pump, which is all I would ever need. Cheap - I may grab a couple!

One more question- I should be getting the new pump today and took the old one out in anticipation. It doesn't seem to be leaking so I may have bought the wrong part(although the reservoir was wet only below the pump). In removing the gasket from the bottle it appears to be one with the strainer. I assume the new "gasket" which comes with the pump I ordered will also have the strainer attached?

I believe it does. My pump didn't come with one, I ordered it separately.
The pump leaks up the shaft seal, and out a little weep hole on the side near the bottom of the motor. It may not be obvious that it's leaking.

Thanks! That would make sense about the leak. I don't see/feel a crack in the reservoir so hopefully that will solve it.

One more comment- the part listed above is what I purchased for $6.88. I realized later that the grommet included is not what you need as we need the one with the strainer attached. Buy the same pump without the grommet for $4.97 here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-3-M-X-Z-...fff2d9&vxp=mtr then buy the grommet with the strainer attached if needed. I bought one for $3.80 shipped(kind of funny the pump and grommet/strainer are almost the same price.) Too bad this place doesn't supply the grommet we actually need with the pump for 6.88...
