Trunk lid wiring... WTF...

i don't know whether its me being thick , but bmw have used a tiny connector setup and my big chubby hands cant for the life of me release any of the connectors to the centre brake light, the latch or the lock in the boot lid.... it doesnt help that I'm currently trying to work on the car in a really low light area and the space is confined , as these have never been released id guess in my car they could just be stiff but I'm struggling to see the usually squeeze and release type connectors, anyone thats removed their boot/trunk lid, is their a specific tool needed to release the harness inside the lid...

I'm about to remove the lid but cant without releasing the various connections points to the wiring loom.
such a simple thing, but for some reason.... I'm stumped and don't want to damage anything, anyone got some points on these little PITA connectors...

Happy sunday peoples!

Sorted... i gave them alittle to much respect it seems, abit more force and they came undone, as things are getting older however I'm always reluctant to go straight in and like to research as much as possible.

Side note...

The trunk lid ( roadster ) is REALLY heavy, if someone made a carbon piece here it would really make a difference.

Great you got it sorted. I like to look before I really increase the force level as well. Now and then there's some crazy clip you need the secret handshake, not force, to dislodge.

What amazes me is the number of different clip designs there are on the car.

I know right? It's like they had a competition in industrial design class.

I had the coupe boot off, yeah really bloody heavy that puppy.. needed 2 guys to get it back on. Dropped a 10mill socket in there while doing up the wing.. what a complete nightmare. Glad you got it sorted.

Vanne, definitely a market for these rear panels to be re made in carbon, i could not believe for such a small panel how heavy it was with the locks etc etc , easily 20kg.......
