Possible hydrolic issue 2006 z4 3.0si

First post here and I tend to read a lot but I haven't found something specific to my issue.

The issue is that the top completely retracts and the sensor stops the motor and the flashing light stops. After a few minutes the top is noticeably higher by less than an inch and the light starts flashing again. I have driven like this but it scares me in the sense that if the top catches wind, I am sure it would ruin my day.

What have I done?
- Relocated the pump from original location to my trunk.
- Topped off fluids.
- Noticed there was a small leak on one of the lines and tightened it down. No longer seems to be leaking.

From what I see, it seems like the hydraulics relax after a few minutes so I am assuming it's something to do with the lines.

- Is it likely that there's a break in a line that I am not seeing?
- Is there a possibility of air in the line? If so, how would I get it out?
- For good measure, how tight can I crank on those lines that connect to the pump without causing damage?

Thank you in advance.

EDIT:
I missed "hydraulic" spelling and should have mentioned that it was the motor to the convertible top.

Have you just pushed the button to lower the top again to make the top lower once more.

The wind isn’t going to catch and cause it to rip off.

When I come to a stop I can press the button and it goes down again and the flashing red light goes off. When I drive a little further the top goes back up slightly and the flashing light happens again.

It's a rinse and repeat problem.

Am I wrong that there’s a down closed locking latch? It’s been forever since my hydraulics went out but could’ve sworn when I was raising/lowering by hand also using the button locked it in place so that it didn’t self lift when hydraulics were gone. Using the same release button above the cubby that manual tops had to use to release it here if I remember right
