Softop rear window shattered, replacement ideas?

Hey guys, so the back of my 2003 z4 3.0 softop shattered as I was trying to manually put the top down (used too much force). I was wondering what some inexpensive replacement options would be? I read somewhere that a guy stitched a clear plastic on but that was for the z3, can the same be done on a z4?

You can get a new top and glass for around $600 from www.autotopsdirect.com

Thats a pretty expensive replacement man. I would have done it but the roof motor does even work so its not worth it in my case.

It's about one third of what you'd pay for a new top from BMW. I don't think the window can be replaced but if you find a way, let us know.

I'd check with some upholstery or top shops to see if they can do something custom for you. It'd likely have to be flexible plastic and sewn in. That's assuming they can get the old glass off from where it's bonded to the top canvas.
