how do you pack your gear?

Between carrying what I need to wear, what I might need to wear, my cpap stuff and my camera stuff--I run out of room!

Have you simplified your life?
How do you pack your gear when you travel?
Any special hints appreciated!

My normal camera gear is:
d300s with a grip and a couple of zoom lenses

My new lightweight set is:
Oly OM-D with grip and weather sealed zoom kit lens; short telephoto zoom lens too;
or Nikon1 V1 with grip, and 10-30 kit zoom lens/pancake if I need it too.

My wife is very clever: Canon SX50HS which has a 24-1,200 equivalent lens attached.

Only carry what you need to wear.

BTW, nice camera rig. I'm a recent Oly convert. Have the mini 4/3 ELP2 and a XZ-1. Both excellent travel cameras. I guess to your question though, one easy to carry camera is always a winner when trying to slim down. On a recent trip to Mexico I only carried the XZ-1 and found that it covered most all my needs well and was very inconspicuous when taking shots of street life.

When I hit the road in my Z4 coupe after voluntarily becoming homeless a couple years ago my trunk was VERY full with my clothes, shoes, typical travel items (for my commute to and from AK), and a small spare, etc. Just gotta prioritize and duffle bags are a must for a tiny trunk, in my opinion. I must say it was pretty damn hilarious watching valets try to pack the trunk after hotels stays. I always gave them a chance in an attempt to spare them from feeling stupid...at first. They always ended up feeling stupid, I guess. There was really only one way to get everything to fit.

Thanks!
Soft sided bags...duffles it will be.
I used to have a photo business. My Newfoundland trip was quite a revaluation to me. Heading out I packed my dslr and my CanonG9 Due to my shoulder I barely used the dslr. Icould have/should have left it at home. Some how I have a compulsion to bring all my gear with me.
As long as I am the navigator (responsible for getting us lost..) footwell is ok. That doesn't work when I drive.
A fellow once posted a "Roadster Bag" on Porsche Pete's Boxster Board. He hung it between the seats. I have seen fitted luggage for trunks when I tried to search for this bag. I suspect a small day pack would work too...
