Hi all,
Seems it's time to replace my front pads and rotors, and i'm wondering if anyone has a good suggestion on where to purchase.
there seems to be plenty of helpful DIYs out there so changing them myself with some help doesn't scare me. i'm thinking of sticking to OEM unless there is a deal out there too good to pass up. any thoughts?

If you decide to with aftermarket, I really liked PFC Z-rated pads. Best prices I found at the time were OG Racing & Bimmerworld. If you want to stick to OEM, I would look at Tishcer, BWMPartsPro, or ECSTuning.

Stoptech pads unless you have a real love of brake dust.

For street use, I purchased my ferrodo street pads at autorock and they only cost me $120ish for F&R.
I think it's too much to put track/high performance pads for street use, don't want to kill the rotors that soon

While I'm buying for the 3.0si, not the M, I've not found Centric/Stoptech brake pads and rotors cheaper than RockAuto.

Thanks for the suggestions, ecs has a service kit with their own cross drilled and slotted rotors and hawk hps pads. Does anyone have experience with either of these products?

I have the ECS rotors and StopTech pads and shortly thereafter I have front shimmy under hard braking.
And I'm very easy on brakes.
Could be FCABs, they're on my ToDo list, but as of this writing, I wouldn't buy the rotors again.
I'll go back to stock next time.

I have Hawk ceramic pads and stock rotors. Love the decrease in brake dust, but the pads are noisier than the OEM's were.

Getbmwparts.com sells OEM rotors and currently has a discount.. You could get all 4 corners for under $800

I aways order from autopartswarehouse.com or rockauto.com and have been pleased. Fast shipping too. I just ordered EBC brake pads and new sensors from Auto Parts Warehouse and they arrived in 3 days.

Make sure you order sensor cables if the warning light is displayed, otherwise you're good to go.

The brake pad install was a piece of cake, but the sensors were kind of a pain. I don't plan to keep the car much longer, otherwise I would've just tied off the sensors.

So if the warning light is not on, do i still need to replace the sensor?

I've found it good to have spare brake sensors on hand, at least if you want to retain the function.

You won't find out until you pull them whether or not they are going to fall to bits once removed. It doesn't usually happen, but sometimes it does.
