SS full race installation for Mcoupe regarding CEL issue on the O2 sensors

Fellow members, this is the answer i got from SS in Italy. I remember some members asking questions about the SS setup. Just note that I have the Ver 1 headers and race cats, x pipe and race cans. all are SS.

Love the sound, I'd recommend it to anyone. I'm going to get my setup rechecked to see how I can get the CEL off. It comes on and off from time to time, but stays on most of the time.

email from SS Italy below:

Hello.

Great, thank you for your information.
Again, I suggest to double-check that your post-cat O2 sensors are connected properly.
I believe that the US Z4M may have a similar stock exhaust to the US M3, where the cats are placed into the stock headers.
If this is the case, the post-cat sensor cables must be unwinded, in order to gain the lenght necessary to reach the provisions found on the SS race cats.
The pre-cat O2 sensors must be plugged on the SS headers, while the post -cat O2 sensors must go on the SS race cats provisions, not on the headers.
Just leave the 2 extra provisions on the headers shut down, with the threaded plugs fastened down securely.
The Supersprint headers do have a different R&L layout from the stock headers, in relationship to the 1-2-3 and the 4-5-6 cilynders.
Just make sure that you follow the route closely, when connecting the O2 sensors.
If the sensors are connected properly, you will not get any CEL.
On all of the Z4M cars we have installed a full system on, here at our Factory in Italy, we never got a CEL.
The stock ECU mapping proved to work just right, as it has a wide enough range to alter the fuel mixture, and compensate for the increased exhaust gas flow conditions.

Best Regards
Alessandro Gilli

OE Euro headers are the same.
right & left are reversed from stock header with CATs.

Ah I see, I think we just went with "closer" and "further" header for re-installing the sensors. I think. But now I'm confused. Oh well, its working fine
