Tear in armrest...solutions?

I searched and couldn't find much. I have a tear in my driver side arm rest (from a mechanic but it has gotten steadily worse). I am looking for options. I would like to just upholster the entire arm rests with leather but not sure if that is possible or how much it may cost. The other option I am playing with is just an easy quick fix, LeatherZ Armrests http://leatherz.com/Merchant5/mercha...y_Code=Armrest

Are there any other options? Also, has anyone upholstered their armrests before?

Thanks!

Is this a tear in the plastic on a non-extended leather car? I'd look for a full door card to replace it with, unless you prefer the look of the stick-on LeatherZ armrests to cover it up.

Put the word out to some import wreckers that you're looking for a door card - if they don't have one, most have parts links to a network of other yards.

They also pop up online from time to time.

A REALLY good upholstery shop could fix it, but the cheaper solution is from LeatherZ.

Are those leather? I thought they were some sort of synthetic material.

They are leather, or you can make them Alcantara or almost any material you want. All you have to do is ask. I've had many a things wrapped from them. Good guys to do business with.

I assume you are taking about the center armrest around the e-brake? That is leather. I think the OP is talking about the armrest on the drivers door and his sounds like it is the standard cobbled vinyl material. I think the suggestion of a replacement door card is the best option. Should be pretty easy to find.

I am talking about the door panel that the other poster mentioned. Seems a lot to replace an entire door panel for on small tear, haha. I may just get some leatherZ armrests so I can have a quick and easy solution. It is not hindering at all except that it is annoying to me. You cannot see it from the passengers seat or anything. Thanks for the replies guys.
