Seatbelt kink
I'm having a problem with my drivers side (LH) seatbelt. It operates fine with one exception. If I'm belted in and lean forward, pulling the belt with me as I move, the seatbelt doesn't retract. There is a kink or crease in the seatbelt that causes it to get caught up in the guide on the seat back. I'm 5'10 and have tried different seating positions thinking that this might be the problem. Does any one share my issue and/or have any ideas to resolve this problem?

That's the annoying bit...having to push the fold thru the guide all the time. Thanks though, for responding. I guess I'll have to iron it in order to get the crease out. Just like pants..

That seems strange. I think it only happened one time with my roadster. When you take the belt off is it sloooooow to rewind?

It is slooooow to rewind. I have to help it by lifting the belt off of the seat surface. I tested the mechanism a little by holding the belt directly at the outlet and pulling it out and then letting it go. It retracts no problem. As soon as you introduce the downward angle of the seatback mounted guide, the retraction is slowed. It is slower than my Volvo for sure. The belt in that car snaps back almost too fast.

Think its supposed to be slow. Engineered the same for most BMWs. Kinda bad thing when buckle hits window glass... So they are weak by design. Plus the marketing weenies think that fast is uncouth.

OK....thank you. I think I'll see if my dealership has any thoughts on this. It's really very annoying and potentially dangerous. It binds up every time I turn to look behind me when pulling out of a parking space.

Sorry, I thought you were speaking of the belt unbuckled as you exit the car. You are right, sitting there with it buckled it should retract easily and pretty quickly as you move fwd then back.
