Opaque film for the top of the headlights?

Has anyone tried this?
I saw this in the for sale thread, and while I don't like the idea of the painted strip, I think that an opaque film might look pretty good...Kind of like the E89 Z4

However, I feel the only way to do this properly, would be to open up the headlight, and install on the inside...which I know isn't going to happen

What do y'all think?

Body-colored vinyl would work and is easily reversible. A local sign shop can probably help you out. I'm not a fan but to each their own.

I like the new headlights, but they fit the design of the E89. Copying that on an E85 headlight will just look weird.
