M Sport Steering Wheel

Was there ever an option to buy a non-m Z4 with the M steering wheel like the one below? i see it listed on realoem.com and wanted to make sure it was the same one as i might order one up.

Not in this country,
In Europe you could spec a Z4 with the M wheel,

But you can buy them from Tischer, Ebay etc,

and they are amazing, I love mine

Def one of my fave things about having the M is the chunky steering wheel,

Don't forget you will need new MF buttons as your silver ones wont fit

Like Starscream said - the wheel in the Z4 M is amazing.
IMO, one of the best steering wheels available.

I'll echo that feeling, this steering wheel is something truly special.

To my eyes, looks and ergonomics are vastly superior to the wheels of contemporary M models. It's part of what made my first impression of the M coupe so strong, and sold me on the car.

Still considering here getting a spare, just in case, for the future.

Are the cables there so you can get one with MFSW buttons? I just have a standard wheel at the moment.

Thanx!

Great steering wheel. I put one in my '04 z4 and love it. As far as the connections for the MF buttons go that depends on the model year. Some model year '03 z4s did not have this and the conversion is doable but more involved.

Also, you can get the steering wheel with the ///M red and blue stitching or black stitching. I have the black stitching.

The thickness is also great on the hands for autocrossing/tracking as you get a lot less fatique at the end of the day.

+1.. Now just because of this amazing steering wheel, I don't even like to touch any other cars' steering feel... I instantly think that "oh man, what kind of a steering wheel is this?"

"It's wonderful and all to fall in love with the exterior, but you'll spend most of the time in the interior. And whilst inside, the part most handled is that of the steering wheel."

To say that the Z4M Steering wheel is absolute bliss is a total understatement. I don't think I have ever held a more "perfect" wheel. Even the wheel on an E9x M3 doesn't compare to the one in the Z4M.

Too bad very few manufacturers understand the importance of such a simple part.

inspired by this thread I have now picked up a Z4M steering wheel

I will have an extra chromeline multi-function wheel from a 05 Z4 soon if anybody is interested.
