OEM Rear Tail Light LED Strips Burnt?

Here's a fun one that's been bothering me since I bought the car. On our 06+ tails there are three strips with I'm assuming 3 LEDs per side.

not my car but just to help out:

My left tail light has the three right side LEDs either burnt or a faulty connection.. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it. So far I think I have to replace my tail light completely. Which sucks for 3 tiny lights.

I had mine out a few weeks ago. I recall it was a sealed unit, so I *think* you need to replace the whole thing. But anything is possible if you want to attempt to take it apart and re-seal it. Can't say I would though...

Yeah, my red light worked fine though. I swapped out my red light assembly for a white light assembly. If you need to replace the whole thing you might want to consider the white assembly. They would look nice on a white car IMO.

Have you tried hitting it?
No, seriously. First I've heard of one failing, but I'll admit to not having searched.
If you tap on it and get the slightest flicker, then it's a loose connection inside.
Most likely, since properly driven LEDs rarely "burn out".
It is a sealed unit, but before you buy a new one might as well try and cut it open.
If you're going to get a new one anyways, what could go wrong?
Well, be careful not to cut yourself. That would be wrong.

Yeah I took the light out and played around with what seems to be wire for the LEDs. I also took out the parking bulb and dropped it, it cracked, now my dash light is on smh.

Ill see what opening it looks like because my v2 overlay is on its way and might as well install it on a fully working light

I must not have been reading closely. I thought you meant the LED strip in the middle of your trunk! Then you started talking about your V2 overlays. Nevermind, forget everything I said earlier.
