M Bumper ducts restriction

I've seen a few people here mention that they removed the restrictions from the M bumper ducts.

I just saw this on the UK forum, where exdos claims that restriction is in place to create pressure and feed the intake.

What do you guys think?

There is no indication from any of the schematics i've seen that points to that.

As johannes stated, his assumption about the ducts was debunked within that same thread that you posted. As someone who has owned both cars, the intake system is quite different between the two vehicles.
