Hi! I think we have spoken before.

It's a bit awkward to be honest for you to have an ESS charger on the car and come to us.

We would need to have a totally stock car with stock DME. If, during the development process we have a competitors setup with us it's totally wrong and if it was happening the other way around I would be most upset.

Shouldn't be a problem getting a stock z4m in the UK. If you check out the uk z4 forum, 90% of mods on there are cosmetic

In this thread we will pretend to at least

To hurry this up... someone bring me a Z4M, I have a lovely carbon airbox and a saw ready to modify it!
Take some measurements of IAT's, make any cold air feeds necessary and then it's just perfecting the fuel tables for a final product.

Then you can all have what we believe is to be the highest quality airbox out there for what is a very very exclusive and special breed of BMW.

... which will also make one hell of a rude noise under load!

Ive just bought the VAC motorsports 1 piece box, (number 3 on that list) and was wondering if anyone else is running one of these? failing that, id like to hear from anyone who's got a carbon box installed and hopefully point out some of the pitfalls and must do's for physically connecting said or any box to our Z4M's..

(I've seen a few vids on youtube, but they ae all for E46)

secondly, what tune are you running? I was initially interested in running with MAF, but for the cash were spending, may as well go for a tune and get the max benefit out of the box. Currently looking to finalise a tune with Randy from Epic. any and all issues id love to hear about this project guys..

also with the tune, looks like the Maf is swapped to a temp sensor
(13621739510 TEMPERATURE SENSOR AIR $25.95) but was wondering where that puppy plugs in? does it use the same lead (wire) as our normal MAF? is it just unplug the maf and plug this temp sensor in?

cheers guys.. any info much appreciated, much much appreciated...

I am looking at the Karbonius airbox. I've read great reviews on M3 Forums about it. It is priced a fair bit cheaper than the other boxes but they have lots of demand and sell out fast. I believe that there should be another group buy going on in a month.

http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...ight=karbonius

I've checked with my local BMW dealership and the CSL airfilter is $200 CDN, the airtemp sensor is $65. So I can source the extra parts I will need and the alpha N tune from EPIC is claimed to work.

Not fully sold on this yet but its an option. I still really like the Evolve one. Just wish it was a little bit cheaper.

if your going Randy's way, leave the iat sensor as he will need you to use bimmerworlds oat sensor.

We just set up a GB in the UK for the air box and will be doing the same for the US in the next day or so. Price will be $2300 plus $200 shipping for the air box and filter.

What will the entire Z4M kit cost for the group buy? With tune & without tune? Thanks.
